Biography
About Gilda Razani
Gilda was born in Teheran, Iran and had a happy childhood. She studied saxophone at the Musikhochschule Detmold and completed it with the degree: “Concert examination” She also took part in a master course of Sigurd Rascher at the Berlin Academy of Arts and studied jazz by Matthias Nadolny. After that she felt at home with both, classical and jazz/world music. She played with the Landesjugendjazzorchester, when Karl Heinz Stockhausen’s opus “Sternenklang” was performed and conducted by the maestro himself.
She started composition and founded her first band “Gilda Razani Group”. Out of this her band „Sub.Vison” evolved. With her composition partner Hans Wanning and sub.vision she’s just finished recording their second album “Remembrance”.

The band was on tour in Italy, Poland, The Netherlands Lithuania and Germany and played on many festivals like the “Leverkusener Jazztage”.
With the all female band “Hikary” Gilda was on the road in Italy several times and played at the first European WomenJazzFestival in Modena, as well as in Frascati. ›› www.hikary.de

Gilda is also a member of the “Transorient Orchestra”, which brings together some of the most creative and experienced musicians from the thriving world-music scene which has established itself in the cultural melting pot that is the Ruhr Area.

She was invited by the “sizilian jazzorchester” to play some gigs in Palermo.
Gilda is also a member of the Domicil Off Orchester “The Dorf”, lead by Jan Klare.
On top of that she was working on a lot of radio and tv productions like the “Geierabend” and the WDR radio show
She has composed film music and worked with a lot of comedians and on theatre productions.
